Who We Are
To help school boards achieve positive, long-term, measurable change in behavior that results in higher academic performance for their districts. Boards are responsible for academic performance. Boards are responsible for the direction of the entire district. They determine the success, or failure, of a school system.
The CBBR was created as a result of the ground-breaking research done by Dr. David E. Lee at The University of Southern Mississippi. The research revealed, for the first time, a direct link between school board behaviors and student achievement. Our research team observed over 200 school board meetings nationwide to see how boards operated in both high, and low, performing school systems. There was a huge difference in the way they conducted business. Based upon this research a national training model was developed and the CBBR now provides the most unique training in the country based on behavior change.
Dr. David E. Lee is the Founder and President of the CBBR. He has worked at the forefront of public education reform in serving as a classroom teacher, principal, superintendent of schools, deputy state superintendent of education for the State of Louisiana, college professor, local school board member, and consultant to school systems and school boards all over the country. Dr. Lee has an earned doctorate from Louisiana State University in educational leadership. He has 40 plus years of experience driving change in organizations and providing motivation that enables people to be better at what they do. His cutting edge research on school board behaviors has gained national attention from school boards all across America. He has presented his research nationwide which includes the National School Board Association Conventions and has shared his research with state associations across the country.
Dr. James Fox is chief researcher for the CBBR and provides expertise as a certified LPI Coach. He is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi and has many years of executive and administrative leadership experience in the P-12 educational setting.
